Specmasoft’s Office 365 Manager simplifies bulk membership updates for both Private and Shared Team channels. You will have the option to choose multiple Private channels across different teams using the report grid, or alternatively, import needed Private channels directly from a CSV file.
With this app, you can perform the following actions in bulk for adding and removing members and owners in Microsoft Teams channels.
- Add members to private/shared channels
- Add owners to private/shared channels
- Remove members from private/shared channels
- Remove owners from private/shared channels
Add members to Private channels and to their respective Teams
Follow the steps below to add multiple users to the selected private or shared channels. Additionally, if these users are not already members of the respective team, add them as a member of the team as well.
- Launch the Office 365 Manager app‘s user interface console.
- Navigate to the Teams page and access the Channels tab.
- In the report picker, select the report type that matches your needs, such as Private channels, Private channels by Team, or any other channel report containing the channels you want to update members for.
- Choose the private or shared channels you wish to add members to from the report grid. If you plan to select channels from a CSV file, you can skip this step.
- Inside the Update Channel Members section in the ribbon UI, click on the Add Channel Members action.
- If you haven’t selected any channels from the report grid, the app will prompt you to choose channels using one of two options: Search and Select Channels or Import Channels From CSV.
- Select the users you want to add as members to the channels.
- Check the option labeled “Add selected users to the Team” if you want these users to be added to their respective teams if they are not already members of those teams.
- Finally, click the Update button. A confirmation window will appear, asking you to confirm the changes you are about to make to the selected channels. Click OK to confirm and initiate the action.
Add owners to Private channels
You can follow the same steps mentioned earlier (refer to the above steps) to select the channels and then click the Add Channel Owners action to add users as an owner of the selected private channels.
Remove members from Private channels
Using the Remove Channel Members action, you have the capability to remove the users from selected private or shared channels in bulk. However, it’s important to note that this action does not allow the removal of channel owners.
Remove owners from Private channels
This action provides the ability to remove users who are designated as owners from selected private or shared channels. By checking the option labeled “Remove membership of the selected owners“, you can remove these users from both the channel owners and members.
