Office 365 Manager Release Notes – 3.1.0.0

We are delighted to announce the release of Office 365 Manager’s latest version, V 3.1.0.0. This version brings significant improvements and new features across Microsoft 365 user management, guest user management, users’ MFA management, organizational mail contacts management, and various other aspects of the Microsoft 365 environment.

These updates further enhance management efficiency, reporting depth, and user control across the platform.

Below, we present a detailed breakdown of features, enhancements, and issue resolutions in this release.

New Features & Enhancements

  • Guest Users Management: You can now create/invite a guest user and add bulk guest/external users using a CSV file.
  • Users MFA Management: You can now manage MFA authentication methods, including adding, editing, and deleting methods for both single and multiple users.
  • Users MFA Management: Setting the default user-preferred MFA method for single and bulk users is now supported.
  • Users MFA Management: Removing all registered MFA methods is supported. This will force the user to re-register their MFA methods.
  • Users MFA Reports: MFA registration details reports enhanced. Per-user MFA state, registered methods, and registered method details can now be viewed in the app.
  • Exchange Online Management: Mailbox conversion supported. You can now convert a user mailbox to a shared mailbox and vice versa.
  • Exchange Online Management: Mailbox Permissions – Reset Full Access and disable Outlook auto-mapping action is supported.
  • Contacts Management: You can now create a single mail contact and create bulk mail contacts using a CSV file. You can also manage existing contact profile information and Exchange properties.
  • Mail-enabled Security Group: Adding bulk members from the Security Groups UI and via CSV is now supported.
  • Mail Server Settings: Modern OAuth authentication is now supported with the Office 365 SMTP service.
  • Mail Server Settings: REST API option is now supported to send mail using Microsoft Graph API.
  • Scheduled Jobs: Customize the email subject and body text for scheduled report messages.
  • MSOnline PowerShell Dependency Removed: The MSOnline PowerShell module dependency has been removed. MFA methods and per-user MFA state are now managed via Microsoft Graph API.

Microsoft 365 Users Management

  • Guest Users Management: Create/invite a single guest/external user action supported.
  • Guest Users Management: Add bulk guest/external users from CSV action supported.
  • User MFA Management – Manage MFA authentication methods (add, edit, and delete) for both single and multiple users.
  • User MFA Management – Add/update email address for MFA supported.
  • User MFA Management – Add/update phone number (mobile, office, alternate) for MFA supported.
  • User MFA Management – Add Temporary Access Pass (TAP) method supported for single and bulk users.
  • User MFA Management – Remove registered authentication methods for single and bulk users.
  • User MFA Management – Remove all registered MFA methods, including Microsoft Authenticator apps, phone numbers, hardware OATH tokens, software OATH tokens, and others. This forces users to re-register MFA.
  • User MFA Management – Update default MFA method / preferred secondary authentication method for single and bulk users supported.
  • User MFA Management – Manage per-user MFA state (Enforced, Enabled, Disabled) enhanced – MSOnline PowerShell replaced with Microsoft Graph API.
  • User MFA Reports – Reports for users’ registered MFA methods and details (email, phone, etc.) supported.
  • User MFA Reports – Per-user MFA status reports – MSOnline dependency removed, now supported via Microsoft Graph API.
  • User Management – Bulk user profile update enhanced – Employee Type and Employee ID fields supported.

Exchange Online Management

  • Mailbox Delegation – Reset Full Access and disable Outlook auto-mapping action supported.
  • Mailbox Conversion – Convert user mailbox to shared mailbox supported.
  • Mailbox Conversion – Convert shared mailbox to regular mailbox supported.
  • Mailbox Usage Report – Selected mailbox-based report generation supported.
  • Mailbox Permissions Report – Selected mailbox-based report generation supported.

Mail Contacts Management

  • Organizational/Mail Contacts reports supported.
  • Create new mail contact and edit existing contact actions supported.
  • Create bulk contacts using CSV supported.
  • Manage contact and organizational info for bulk contacts supported.
  • Update/reset manager for bulk contacts supported.
  • Hide/show from Global Address List (GAL) for bulk contacts supported.

App Enhancements and Fixes

  • Scheduled Jobs – Customize email message subject and body text supported.
  • Mail Server Settings – Modern OAuth authentication supported with Office 365 SMTP service.
  • Mail Server Settings – REST API option to send mail using Microsoft Graph API supported.
  • Tenant Configuration – Multi-tenant management enhanced – tenant search supported.
  • Microsoft 365 Subscription Licenses – Friendly license names updated.
  • Exchange Online Management PowerShell Module – Version 3.7.0.0 set as the new default install version.
